Dr. Siying Liu

Dr. Siying Liu is a Research Associate in the Health Division at IMPAQ International.

Expertise

Dr. Liu is an applied micro economist with specializations in health economics and labor economics. Dr. Liu’s research has focused on topics such as the initiation and duration of breastfeeding, the usage of preventive services such as screening mammography and colonoscopy, obesity, the extent and intensity of labor force participation, and wages. Dr. Liu has extensive experience with quasi-experimental frameworks such as the Diff-in-Diff, Regression Discontinuity, Instrumental Variable, Propensity Score Matching, and Synthetic Control, among others. Dr. Liu also has experience in consumer research/focus group/product design.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining IMPAQ, Dr. Liu was an Instructor/Teaching Fellow/Research Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh.

Education

Dr. Liu earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. She also has a B.A. in Economics and an LL.B. in International Relations from Peking University.
