Dr. Madry (B.A. Political Science, University of North Carolina) has extensive experience in managed health care operations. He has served as the President of two HMOs, as a state regulator of health insurance companies, has examined the market conduct of 34 insurance companies, and has served as an expert witness in several state and federal court cases involving managed health issues. He also chaired a National Association of Insurance Commissioner’s committee that wrote the model acts for managed care operations and co-authored the draft examination manual for HMOs and PPOs. His experience includes claims/encounter audits and mining claims data in order to evaluate utilization management processes and provider outlier management activities. He has written numerous articles and blogs on the issue of health care reform.
