IMPAQ is supporting the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, to provide an evaluation for one of its  principal programs , the Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK).

The program, is designed to increase elementary school student’s aptitude in math and science and their interest in pursuing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career. Currently operating in 11 cities across the country and serving more than 3000 students annually, the program uses a hands-on, project based curriculum and teamwork approach to solving problems and creating products while discovering the underlying math and science principles.

The proposed plan will enable NSBE to evaluate the SEEK program effectiveness for students and other constituents such as parents, sponsors and mentors through analysis of survey and test data. Major tasks include:

  • Developing an evaluation and assessment plan
  • Creating procedures and databases for data collection
  • Analyzing data
  • Developing a final report based on data analysis.
