Ms. Amanda Ahlstrand is Managing Director, Workforce and Family Support. After a 16-year career with the U.S. Department of Labor, Ms. Ahlstrand will help IMPAQ further strengthen our ability to provide effective, evidence-based technical assistance.
Ms. Ahlstrand is an experienced member of the Federal Senior Executive Service with extensive knowledge in federal management and partnership building. She brings to IMPAQ expertise in evidence-driven program management, public policy, and strategic partnership and planning.
Prior to joining IMPAQ, Ms. Ahlstrand was a Senior Executive for the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration. In her role, Ms. Ahlstrand led one of the agency’s largest offices to draft and issue program policy to states and other grantees, providing training and assistance in understanding and implementing those policies, and facilitating peer-to-peer learning to advance the implementation of the programs.
Ms. Ahlstrand also worked at the Office of Workforce Investment as a Division Chief. She worked to connect employers to state and local service providers, ensuring that agency programs addressed business customer needs through their policies and implementation.
Ms. Ahlstrand earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University.
