Ms. Sharon R. Benus

Ms. Sharon R. Benus is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of IMPAQ International. For many years, she oversaw day-to-day business operations of company. The culture Sharon built continues on at IMPAQ, as she continues to play an advisory role and regularly mentors staff.

Prior Experiences

Prior to founding IMPAQ, Ms. Benus served for more than 25 years in various senior management positions in state government, at the University of Maryland, and in the private sector. Her diverse experience working in federal, state, and local governments has strongly influenced IMPAQ’s ability to interface effectively with clients.

At the University of Maryland, Ms. Benus helped to oversee the Office of Sponsored Research, as well as student services and the Health and Human Services Library. In the private sector, Ms. Benus developed substantial experience in the areas of strategic planning, marketing, organizational development, supervision, and staff development. She has worked extensively in the employment, job training, and health sectors.


Ms. Benus graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History and earned an M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan.
