Dr. James Moore

Dr. James Moore’s paper “HIV Testing in Community Pharmacies and Retail Clinics – A Cost Analysis of a Novel HIV Testing Strategy,” was recently accepted for publication by the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association.

The paper, co-authored by employees from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), analyzes a CDC pilot project that provides confidential testing services in community pharmacies and retail clinics at 22 sites across the United States. They performed a cost analysis to determine the cost per test and to assess the feasibility and sustainability of HIV rapid testing for participating pharmacies.
