IMPAQ worked with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of its disability determination processes. These changes will benefit millions of applicants each year.

The core project team consisted of two senior researchers with many years of experience in NIH and SSA projects, strong backgrounds in data science, and a deep familiarity with SSA data.
