While strengthening the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) capabilities to evaluate the impact of its development interventions in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), we are simultaneously developing local Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) capacities, enabling them to conduct an independent analysis of economic and political challenges and policies in their country.
IMPAQ is utilizing multiple methods and approaches to deliver technical assistance. We are training local partners on how to conduct rigorous evaluations, surveys, studies, and sector assessments; building capacity to deliver results on a meaningful scale; and developing a Geographic Information System to illustrate where USAID/BiH interventions are focused and their results, to enhance strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management.
We are assisting USAID/BiH in improving their ability to identify, collect, and analyze performance data on their programs. Our work is being used to improve the effectiveness of development interventions by using M&E to inform current program management and the longer-term strategic direction of development programs. Ultimately, this work will strengthen local capacity to monitor and evaluate the impact of public policy, legislation, and solutions to the challenges facing the country and their democracy.
